Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province, People's Republic of China, and is the most populous city in Central China. It lies at the east of the Jianghan Plain and is the intersection of the middle reaches of the Yangtze river and Han river. Arising out of the conglomeration of three cities, Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang, Wuhan is known as "the nine provinces' leading thoroughfare": It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city. Because of its key role in domestic transportation, Wuhan was sometimes referred to as the "Chicago of China.” It is recognized as the political, economical, financial, cultural, educational and transportation center of central China.

A University of Tradition and Culture

Founded in 1903, Huazhong ( Central China ) Normal University (CCNU) is a comprehensive and prestigious university on the list of “211 National Project” and "985 National Project". During a splendid legacy of over 100 years, CCNU has developed a profound historical tradition. The university consists of 21 colleges and 4 departments, offering 77 doctoral programs, 158 graduate programs and 52 undergraduate programs. CCNU offers the student a wide range of diverse disciplines to choose from, including Chinese Language and Literature, Philosophy, Law, Economics, Education, History, Natural Science, Engineering, Agriculture and Management, as well as special disciplines such as Fine arts, Music and Physical Education.The university has earned both national and international recognition for its first-rate humanity programs, superior natural science programs and extraordinary engineering programs.

Currently, the full-time enrollment of CCNU has exceeded 23,000 students, among which 7,000 are postgraduates. Since 2001, the graduate employment rate has remained above 95%, ranking among the top in China . The university is one of the first institutions being authorized to enroll oversea students in China, and it is one of the few National Chinese Language Education Bases accredited by the State Council. At present, we have over 1,600 oversea students from 80 countries for long-term study or for pursuing degrees.

CCNU’s international student apartments locate in the west part of the campus.

Building 5,6 set different standards based on room types are as follows:

Single Room: US$175 / month / person for self-supporting , exchange students

Double: US$130 / month / person for scholarship master, self-supporting, exchange student

Bunk beds: US$110 / month / person for self-supporting, exchange student

Triple: US$90 / month / person for self-supporting, exchange student

Quadruple: US$65 / month / person for self-supporting, exchange student

The hostel offers television and Internet, students need to pay the related expenses at the internet center:

New registered Internet users: first payment US$7.50 then monthly charges

Hotels on Campus

The Guiyuan Hotel (The Academic Activity Center of CCNU) is located at CCNU main campus, close to the Jiedaokou shopping center. With its convenient location, it can be easily accessed by Metro Line 2 and other public transportation. It’s only 10 minutes’ drive to Wuchang Railway Station.

The Center comprises 193 standard rooms and business suites as well as more than 20 deluxe garden suites. It is also an ideal place to accommodate conferences, business activities and academic events with six small-, medium- and large-sized conference halls. Delicious cuisines are offered in its spacious Chinese restaurants and fashionable cafeterias. Facilities and services such as all-weather central air conditioning, cable TV system, international and domestic long distance calls, wide-band, and safe deposit boxes are provided to make our guests feel convenient, comfortable and warm.
