Peking University (PKU)

Peking University is one of the oldest universities in China. Peking University was founded in 1898 to serve as a formal replacement for the former Imperial College. Peking University has educated many of the greats in China such as: Lu Xun, Mao Dun, Chen Duxiu, Premier Li Keqiang, Mao Zedong, and Gu Hongming. In fact, Peking University’s campus in Beijing is known for being one of the first places to have protests for the Cultural Revolution in 1966. Peking University underwent a series of reforms imposed by the Chinese government during the Cultural Revolution when the Chinese government decided to regroup several of the university disciplines into different universities. At this time, disciplines such as law were relocated to other universities in Beijing.

The University’s oldest campus is located in Beijing. However, the school just opened up a brand-new Law and Business Graduate School in Shenzhen, China. Here students from many European, African, and North American countries come to study for a Master’s Degree in Shenzhen. Foreign students have the option to opt for a semester abroad or an entire degree program abroad taught in English taught in the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, which is home to the Peking University HSBC Business School and the Peking University School of Transnational Law. Another school that is quite famous at Peking University is the National School of Development (NSD) in Beijing. Formerly, this school was called the China Center for Economic Research. Currently, it is considered to be one of the most influential think tanks in China that focuses on forward-looking strategy regarding sustainable development. Given all the recent changes in China’s environmental and development policies, this school would be a fantastic place to receive an education that is taught by professors that are experienced and witnessing these monumental changes in China at the present moment. Dormitory vacancies are limited and is on a first-come-first-served basis, your application for housing will be canceled automatically if you do not pay the deposit on time, within three days of confirmation.
Zhongguan Global Village Dormitory PKU which is located opposite the East Gate of Peking University. Yan Yuan Campus Building Single room US$876 per person for a month Double room US$717 per person for a month.
Shao Yuan International Students Apartment is situated right near the west gate of the campus. It is self-catered accommodation which is mainly open to new postgraduates scholarship students. Single rooms US$13-16 per student per day. There are two to three rooms per apartment.

Zhongguan Global Village PKU There is a small amount of rooms available in the Zhongguanyuan Global Village for students which give different options, including single rooms, twin rooms, and various size apartments
Zhongguan New Park PKU
The Apartment Building No. 2-6 has international student apartments, Building No.8 has postdoctoral apartments, and the southern part of Building No.9 is an expert apartment. There are a total of 1542 rooms. There are various types of apartments, complete facilities, and home-style services which allow residents to feel at home.
Self-funded Students are required to find their own living accommodation. It takes several days to find suitable accommodation. You may find off-campus apartment via local rental agents.You may reserve a temporary accommodation at a local hostel or hotel while making arrangements for permanent housing.
